Overnight at Yncierto’s Beach

DSC01888.JPGI knew Dawis in Digos City as the nearest place with beaches. I’m living in North Cotabato and I was still a kid the last time I visited on that beach side of Davao Gulf. Before our family gathering preparation, I contacted my mother about a good beach resort in Digos with a cottage that can accommodate our big families overnight. She texted me “Enserto’s Beach” with the resort’s mobile number. I done a research in the internet but I found none about the resort. I thought, it was new and not yet well known. We did an advance booking by calling 09193579955 and reserved a two-floor beachfront cottage for 1,500 pesos which can handle 30 persons overnight. The cheapest accommodation and without downpayment.

Location: Dawis, Digos City, Davao del Sur, Philippines

Where I Stayed: Yncierto’s Beach Resort

Buddies: Big Family (30+)

A common Filipino vehicle “jeepney” is the most comfortable and the cheapest mode of transportation in the province. With bigger family and with low budget, I recommended it for safety as well.

From Kidapawan to Digos was likely around two hours including a short stop for toilet and traffic because of road construction.

It was wrong spelling! Yncierto and not Enserto! Based on the price, I never expected for a very nice accommodation. For me, its worth for what I had paid. (Maybe better than other resorts). I’ve been and seen some nice and classy beaches and resorts, and what I could say that this place need to develop. This place has potential to be a better resort with attractions as I saw few young men having fun with the waves. It is not white sand but the most important for a beach is cleanliness. The seashore should be kept cleaned as there are coconut husks, dog’s feces, and garbage.

The resort is good for a family gathering or for a big group because there is a shared kitchen which uses wood or coal for grilling. We’re lucky that we reserved the only cottage which has its own bathroom and with two bed rooms. Those other groups staying at big cottages have to pay separately when using shared toilets and showers.

A boatman offered us a short tour for 30 pesos each person for about an hour. We’re excited to see some corals and what they said white sand. I thought of an island. Thirty minutes away from the shore, there was a shallow part of the sea. A little bit disappointed that what they referred white sand was the sea bed flooring. Anyway, there are few corals on that area and its funny handling frustrations!
